Pickleball Courts in Wooster

  • Christmas Run Park
    700 N. Grant Street, Wooster, OH 44691
Christmas Run Park is Wooster's main outdoor pickleball hub. The city originally had six pickleball courts here and completed six additional courts in 2024, bringing the park to 12 outdoor pickleball courts. The courts are divided between upper and lower areas of the park. Local players regularly gather here during good weather, especially mornings and evenings. City courts are generally available first-come, first-served outside reservations and recreation programming. See Wooster park information.

Learn to Play in Wooster

Brand-new players should start with Intro to Pickleball at Aspen Racquet Club. The two-hour class is offered on the first Saturday of each month from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and covers the fundamentals needed to move into recreational games or open play.

Aspen also runs beginner/intermediate drills on Tuesdays from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, along with private and small-group lessons. See current clinics and instruction. Wooster Recreation also offers seasonal pickleball fundamentals clinics, so the current city program guide is useful when another session opens. Additional instructors are available in the Coaches section.

Open Play, Drills and Leagues

Aspen Racquet Club provides Wooster's most dependable published open-play schedule, with sessions Monday and Friday evenings, Wednesday morning, and Sunday afternoon. The club also runs beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced drills, an intermediate pickleball league, private instruction, and tournaments such as Pickle-Woo. See current Aspen pickleball programming.

Christmas Run Park is the center of outdoor community play. Local players regularly organize games there during the outdoor season, though the city does not publish a fixed weekly open-play timetable or paddle rotation. That means the 12 courts are established public playing space, not guaranteed organized drop-in play.

Acres of Fun adds indoor leagues, events, and tournaments along with reservable courts. See current Acres of Fun pickleball options.

Where Visitors Can Find a Game

If you are visiting Wooster alone, start with an open-play session at Aspen Racquet Club. Non-members can participate, and the published schedule gives you a dependable time when other pickleball players are already gathering. Wednesday morning and the Monday, Friday, and Sunday sessions give visitors several options during the week.

During good outdoor weather, Christmas Run Park is also worth trying because its 12 courts are the center of Wooster's outdoor pickleball community. It is especially useful if you already have partners. If you want guaranteed indoor court time with your own group, reserve a court at Aspen or Acres of Fun.
